Eric and Kim own an old farm house in the small town of Grant, right outside Idaho Falls. In the back yard they have a very large potato cellar. At first they used the cellar as storage but Kim wanted to use the large space for much more.
She wanted to turn it into an art studio/play room for her kids. She knew it would take a lot more then just cleaning up the space and laying down carpet. She wanted it done right, she knew she would be living in this house for a very long time and he just wanted to take advantage of all the space she could. She talked with Eric and they started to look for a company that specialized in finishing basements. One thing they had to be sure of was that they needed to make sure the space was waterproofed, being surrounding on almost all sides by soil the ground water could become their biggest issue. That’s when they called Foundation Support Works. We have all the right tools, products and knowledge to take care of all their needs and wants on this project.
By the time we had finished, you never would have guessed you were standing in an old potato cellar. Not only that but we made the room a lot safer and less moist. Eric and Kim couldn’t have been any happier with the job. If you have an old cellar or basement that you would like to use as living space please call us we service all of Idaho! Homeowners discovered water leaking into their basement. WaterGuard, SuperSump, IceGuard, and a Lawnscape outlet were installed to adequately waterproof the basement.
Jeremy in Pocatello owns a house that is about 100 years old with an addition added to the house later. The foundation of the main portion had settled more than the addition, causing the foundation to crack. Cracking foundations can create many problems for properties--the floors can sag, water can leak into the crawlspace through the cracks, and cracks can even develop on the inside of the house in the bricks and drywall.
Jeremy was smart and called us for his free estimate. Quickly, we sent our design specialist, Ryan, to his home to assess the situation and provide a potential solution. Ryan suggested we install CarbonArmor to repair the cracks and prevent them from growing any further.
Unfortunately, Jeremy decided not to accept our suggestion to pursue other options. However, if we had installed our carbon Armor, it would have repaired his foundation concerns and left him with peace of mind.
Mr. & Mrs. Maynard had called because they had spoken with us at a Home and Graden Show that we participated in. After speaking with us they decided they needed to get their crawlspace encapsulated. Most people learn that having their crawlspace encapsulated helps make the air they breathe in their homes better and cut down on their energy costs. Our crew left there with happy customers and a great review!
We quoted for a waterproofing system.
First, they needed Our Nexus Pro Crack Sealer to seal in all the cracks on their basement wall.
Second, We installed our CleanSpace to cover the basement walls.
Third, we installed our Waterguard drainage system with a triple safe sump pump
NexusPro® is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks specially engineered to provide long-lasting flexibility and to stand up to harsh weather conditions. Unlike traditional polyurethane sealants, NexusPro resists UV rays, which means it won't crack, bubble, or dry.
Wall System utilizes a thick (20mil) white poly sheet material to completely cover basement foundation walls. CleanSpace® is installed by fastening the material to the rim joist atop the foundation wall, and by installing press-fit plastic fasteners into the masonry.
The WaterGuard® basement waterproofing system from Basement Systems is an innovative interior basement drainage system designed to effectively solve your basement water problems.
When combined with our sump pumps and other waterproofing products, WaterGuard will keep your basement clean and dry year-round.
The TripleSafe™ sump pump system keeps your basement dry with triple the protection. Most sump pumps fail because of either a failed pump, a pump that can't handle high volumes of water or power failure. The TripleSafe assures protection from all three sump pump problems.
Water intrusion can look like many things! From bubbling paint, yellow spots, damp carpets, to odd mildew smells.. Yuck!
Water can get into your basement in many ways, but the most common invasion points we see are:
