Unfortunately, Dan decided not to follow-through with our suggestion. However, without repairing this issue, it will only grow more expensive and difficult to repair. 

Rose from Caldwell has lived in her home for over 25 years and the first time she found water in her crawl space she called a company to add a vapor barrier.  They told her the 6mil thick liner was the same liner everyone else installed in their homes and that was true. It was only 2 years later that while in her garden Rose notice an odd odor coming from the crawlspace; she took her flashlight and peered into the space. Rose was mortified!   

The black vapor barrier was pull away from the perimeter of the crawlspace exposing the damp dirt and in one corner she could see a large puddle or water. In the large puddle she found mold growing on the wood post that held up her home and she could see the wood had started to rot away.
