Foundation Supportworks of Idaho Case Studies: Snow Melt Water Problems Fixed in Hill City, ID

Monday, July 23rd, 2018 by Colton Herzog

Homeowners of eleven years have had constant water problems with their basement. Every snow melt, water intrudes into the basement. Even with two sump pumps in the basement, water is still standing on the floor of the space. The basement is unfinished due to this problem. These concerned homeowners started to seek a permanent waterproofing solution, so they gave us a call. We sent over our expert to evaluate the situation and to figure out the best possible solutions for this issue.

Our installers set up two new sump pumps that are capable of moving more water than the old ones that were already in the basement. WaterGuard was used to encapsulate the basement and a SmartPipe was installed so water could be moved out to the lawnscape discharge port. IceGuard was also installed since the majority of the water problems these homeowners were experiencing derived from snow melt. IceGuard prevents the system from becoming blocked when ice forms within the discharge line, allowing water to flow through the IceGuard until the line thaws again. With all these products properly installed, these homeowners can now enjoy a dry basement for years to come.
