Industry standard crawl space encapsulation liners are incredibly thin—only 9 mil. This makes it easy to tear and rip whenever the crawl space is accessed. It's more of a 'temporary' encapsulation rather than a permanent one. You can see a very thin liner in this 'before' picture, and where open dirt is still exposed. 

Thankfully, we were able to replace all of the liner with our CleanSpace© encapsulation system, a permanent solution for the home's waterproofing crawl space needs. Its heavy, thick, 20 mil liner is manufactured in 7 layers to optimize its puncture resistance, flexibility, and brute tear resistance. When this homeowner called us, their crawl space was collapsing with moldy insulation and flimsy, loose liner. To fix it, we first replaced their moldy insulation with SilverGlo© crawl space insulation, a 2" foamboard infused with graphite and includes a radiant barrier to reflect heat back into the home for superior energy savings. To fix this crumbling crawl space, we supported the weakening crawl space beam with our SmartJack system, which instantly lifts while addressing the root cause of settlement. We also replaced the thin, flimsy liner with our 10 mil CleanSpace Light liner with "UltraFresh" antimicrobial protection. 

Because of how poorly protected this crawl space was, pools of bacteria-filled water developed over this flimsy liner. However, after a full encapsulation with our heavy, 20 mil thick CleanSpace liner, now it will stay protected with a 25-year warranty against rips and tears.
